Ann Akre - Founder and Executive Producer

Ann started the awards program in 2012 to bring a spotlight to our city’s burgeoning  reputation for innovation in the style and fashion industry. She also hoped that the program would serve as a catalyst to encourage more collaboration within the  Portland’s creative community.  in the one year since PFSA’s inception, she has been thrilled to see the connections and collaborations that have resulted.

As owner of Venus Allure Salon and Spa, Ann has been an active member in the fashion and style industry for many years and is proud to be a part of Portland’s incredible pool of fashion industry professionals.


Amy Rush - producer

Amy is a writer with a passion for fashion, and a love of new cultures and travel. With a background in the travel and service industry, her focus is now media, freelance writing, and public relations work. She is excited to be a part of the PFSA team for a second year and making the 2016 Portland Fashion and Style awards an event to remember filled with talent you won’t forget. 



maddie oistad - Intern

Maddie is a graduate of Phagan's School of Hair. Her passion include nail art, truffle fries, and her family. She was a 2015 volunteer for the Portland Fashion and Style Awards that we saw and just had to get more involved because of her positive attitude and incredible organization. She isn't afraid to jump in and handle things.

You can see her cleverness on our Facebook and Instagram, as well as leading volunteers at all of our 2016 event. In between being done with school and helping with PFSA, Maddie does hair from her in-home studio.

Shelia hamilton- 2016 celebrity co-host

Sheila Hamilton is a five-time Emmy Award winning journalist and the author of “All the Things We Never Knew.” Sheila’s storytelling resume runs through film, commercial television, radio and print. She began her career as an Associate Producer for public broadcasting, and then anchored and reported commercial television news for KTVX in Salt Lake City, Utah and KATU in Portland, Oregon.

Sheila currently hosts the Kink morning show in Portland, Oregon where she was recently voted Oregon’s Best Radio Personality. Sheila also writes cover stories for About Face Magazine and authors the blog,

Sheila is a frequent speaker and emcee for her favorite causes- mindful mental health and empowerment for girls. She serves on the board of Girls Inc., an organization empowering girls to be strong, smart and bold and The Flawless Foundation, a mental health advocacy organization.

Poison Waters - 2016 Celebrity co-Host

Poison Waters is not just a personality. Poison is an experience!! Whether dressed as Poison Waters or her alter ego Kevin Cook, they are both captivating.

For over two decades Poison has been having tons of FUN entertaining from countless Northwest stages. She has been coordinating, participating in and hosting an endless docket of benefits, revues and shows for various local, regional and national nonprofit organizations. She has been recognized and rewarded for sharing her talents with such charities as Cascade AIDS Project, Make a Wish Foundation, Bradley Angle, Human Dignity Coalition, Oregon Humane Society and the American Heart Association. Poison has satisfied audiences of such recognizable clients as Alaska Airlines, Hewlett-Packard, Absolut, Seattle Metropolitan and Portland Monthly magazines, Pacific Place and Hawaii Visitor & Convention Bureau, just to name a few. The invitations never stop; hundreds of thousands have enjoyed her wit, charm and beauty! When she is not emceeing events while traveling the globe, she is the cohost at the legendary Darcelle XV Showplace where she has been wildly popular for over 20 years.

Whatever the event, cause or venue, one thing remains the same: the instant bond between Poison Waters and her audience. She will always remain, “the smile on the face of Portland.”
